This one-day clinic for both beginner and advanced boaters prepares participants for the hazards of whitewater paddling, especially in cold weather.
Quick Details
This foundational course will help you unlock the early stages of paddling whitewater and give you a chance to build your paddling network.
A Friday evening meet & greet is followed by some course goal setting, dry land training & outfitting. This is a great way for you to get comfortable and confident with the instructors, fellow boaters, and equipment. Our instructors will make sure everyone is river ready before leaving our shop Friday evening.
Saturday will start with a gear up and brief review of the morning’s paddling session. From here we head to the river put-in and look forward to a good day on the water! The day is structured enough to hit all the participant’s goals for the course, but loose enough to not feel rushed or locked into one skill set.
The curriculum for each course will vary based on it’s participants but we will not exceed class III whitewater. We aim for class I-II river running and developmental paddling and rescue techniques.
